Arguably one of the worst first half years ended in one of the best half years I ever had. I had the pleasure of seeing so many of my students flourish, playing shows across, hosting workshops and writing camps in Barcelona, getting my first golden AND platinum certification, even fall in love again and all while still being able to teach my students and see my friends and family in Amsterdam. I think the little guy in the last slide would be pretty damn proud. Thank you all for making want to do this for the rest of my life ♥️
It’s been over 2 years since I started teaching and I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do. Being fully remote thanks to @musesessions.co I see my students from all over the world progress so much faster than I did when I started out and every single time it fills my heart with joy hearing their first projects evolve from rough demos to Spotify releases. Here’s some snippets from the last few months, and if it gets you excited to discover your own inner musician feel free to check out the link in my bio!
Since 2023, I have been teaching and conducting workshops in electronic music production, both in English and Dutch, at various institutions in Amsterdam. During my private lessons, I help students progress with their tracks or technical knowledge in 1.5 hours, using a specially designed online environment for high-quality audio editing.
Electronic music is created on our laptops 90% of the time. Rather than squeezing two people in front of one laptop, I’ve found an application that allows you to share your screen and audio using studio-grade quality, enabling me to control your project remotely. This way, I can help you from wherever you want, whenever you want.
If you’re just trying to figure out what music production means to you, you can book your 30-minute intake for FREE. But if you already know music production is what you want to pursue, book a 5-lesson package to learn the ropes and get started!
My approach on 1-on-1 classes is that they’re 100% bespoke. I believe that discussing our lives and passions will help us build rapport and create beautiful music together.
While working as a teacher, I discovered that 1.5 hours is the ideal attention span. Any shorter, and we may leave things out, while any longer could lead to wavering focus. That being said, I love to be proven wrong, so please get in touch if you’d like to request an alternative lesson duration.
Pre-made courses assume that everyone is at the same level in their music production journey. However, you might have had a musical upbringing and pick up tonality faster than others, while some may have technical training an understand the interface of the DAW quicker than you. My bespoke private classes make sure you don’t get stuck doing the parts of music production you find boring or skip over the ones you struggle with most.
As I work across 3 DAWs (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools), the choice is completely up to you! If you have a Mac, I personally prefer Logic Pro, but Ableton is very electronic-music-friendly, and Pro Tools is amazing for vocal recording and editing. To find out if any of these are right for you, I’d advise downloading a trial, which usually gives you at least 30 days to experiment. In terms of equipment, all you need is a computer and headphones! Anyone who tells you that you need more than this to make good music is either lying or wants your money!
It’s very simple! You can buy a lesson or course from my website using the Tutor page. How many lessons you choose to book is entirely up to you. You can book an entire course at once or book on a one-off basis using the booking link sent to your email.
This completely depends on your schedule. The most important part of learning a new skill is putting it into practice. Some people manage to create an entirely new project in a week, while others have less spare time. Students usually book classes anywhere from twice a week to once a month.
It really doesn’t matter. Whether you have a full track ready and need help with the mixing process, or you’re just learning how to record your first drum rhythm, I’m here to help!
